Sarah recently moved to Brooklyn from Northeast Florida where she spent two seasons with Surfscape Contemporary Dance Theatre, co-directed by Rachael Leonard and Kristin Polizzi. Sarah grew up in Texas and spent her formative dance years in Houston, training at a local studio. She spent a year with Ad Deum Dance Company and was a founding member of Ingredients Dance Company that traveled with the Dance Revolution National Convention. Sarah then went on to Belhaven University where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance. While at Belhaven she had the privilege of dancing in works choreographed by Dorris Humphrey, Ryan Corriston, Dorrell Martin, Cynthia Newland, and Dr. Emily Wright, among others. In May of 2012 Belhaven’s Department of Dance selected Sarah and a few of her colleagues to represent the University on a trip to Seoul, Korea to collaborate with Korean film directors on a dance for camera. Sarah again had the honor to perform abroad in May of 2014 when she travelled with Surfscape to Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London, England. Apart from performing, Sarah utilized her education to teach as a full time Dance Instructor at University High School in Orange City, Florida from 2014 – 2015.
